After just one season in the first team, Gray’s departure was a difficult pill to swallow. However, there is now no hope that the club’s top young talent will have to leave. Gray is considered the best player to come out of Leeds’ academy since James Milner in the early 2000s, but there could soon be even better players. And unfortunately as a championship club, there will always be the risk of some of Europe’s elite players transferring before making it into the first team.
