In that game, Stewart was brought into the lineup and provided a spark off the bench alongside Mihailo Boskovic. Since then, Stewart and Boskovic have become mainstays of BYU’s rotation, and it has paid off. BYU’s depth has led the Cougars to eight straight wins and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. In his last eight games, Stewart has averaged just under 12 minutes per game. When he’s on the court, he’s often tasked with guarding the opposing team’s best scorer. Stewart has consistently provided a spark off the bench.

In the away win over West Virginia that helped BYU turn the season around, Stewart scored eight points on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting, including two game-winning three-pointers as time ran out. Stewart will continue to serve as the defensive blocker as BYU heads into the postseason. Defending the quick pass has historically been BYU’s weak point on defense.
