Teoscar Hernández re-signed with the Dodgers this offseason and is perhaps the only constant player on a team with many players in constant flux. Hernández led all National League outfielders in home runs (33) and RBI (99), earning him his third career Silver Slugger Award. But the only other Dodger in 2024 to start even 50 games in the outfield is rookie Andy Pages, who has started 101 games but could find himself on the outside when looking at the depth chart with Michael Conforto signed to play left fielder and utility player Tommy Edman taking up most of the time at center field. Last year, the Dodgers’ outfielders hit 72 home runs, fifth among major league teams. They have finished in the top five in home runs by outfielders seven times in the past eight years.

Hernández has averaged 29 home runs over the last four seasons. Conforto averaged 29 home runs in his three full seasons with the Mets (2017-19), but his 20 home runs last year with San Francisco were his highest total in the last five seasons. Although Conforto did hit 17 home runs away from the spacious Oracle Park, so perhaps a better home field would benefit him, as it did against Hernández in 2024 after 2023 at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
