That day has finally come. Notre Dame football will face Ohio State at Mercedes-Benz Stadium today Monday, January 20 in the College Football National Championship Finals. Ohio State has not won a championship since the 2014 season. Notre Dame’s most recent title was in 1988. The Buckeyes have won the last six meetings between the programs, including two under the current coaches. Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman has yet to win against Ohio State’s Ryan Day. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe will provide commentary for the game on ESPN, Ohio State’s fourth consecutive appearance in the College Football Playoff. This will be the first time Notre Dame has had such a broadcast team in this playoffs.
