Those programs don’t have an advantage over Notre Dame, but Hammock believes his Huskies can match the No. 7 ranked opponent in the LBM USA Coaches Poll. “For me, the game went the way I thought it would,” Hammock said. “We stayed in the fight long enough to have a chance to win.”
The Huskies are an experienced team. Many of their best players on Saturday were with the program as NIU won the 2021 MAC. Including veteran winger Antario Brown. He ran for 99 yards against the Irish, added 126 receptions and scored the team’s only touchdown.
