FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons picked up their sixth win of the season on Sunday, defeating the Dallas Cowboys 27-21. However, their victory did not come without a price. Two key players in the squad, winger Drake London and defensive midfielder Grady Jarrett, had to leave the field due to injury and did not return. London was no longer on the field after scoring a 9-yard field goal in the first quarter. He was ruled out with a hip injury and could be seen on the stationary bike and doing other exercises to test his lower body on the sidelines. Jarrett left the game late in the third round due to an Achilles strain.

Jarrett had an MRI of his Achilles tendon on Monday and told reporters in the locker room the same day that he felt “positive” about the results and considered himself normal. There also seems to be reason to be optimistic about London. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted on Monday that the belief was that Atlanta’s star catcher had a sore hip, which is typically not a “long-term” problem. In nine weeks, London has 50 receptions for 552 yards and six touchdowns, tied for the second most in the league. Jarrett leads the Falcons with 2.5 tackles for loss on the season, including one on Sunday against the Cowboys. He has 30 tackles, nine quarterback hits and six tackles for loss this year. The Falcons’ first official injury report of the week will be released on Wednesday, providing more information on London and Jarrett’s situation. Atlanta will hit the road in Week 10 for a rematch with the New Orleans Saints.
