Mark Cuban could become a good president in the future, but he is not yet deeply involved in politics. At least until this year. The NBA Dallas Mavericks co-owner and “Shark Tank” investor isn’t exactly a Republican. But I’ve interviewed him many times since 2015, and I’ve never seen him campaign so strongly for a Democrat, especially a progressive candidate. However, Cuban is participating in the campaign for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and recently interviewed the vice president for her YouTube page.

Cuban has been at odds for years with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, even before this New Yorker ventured into politics. But in 2015, Cuban said that Trump was “probably the best thing to happen to politics in a long time.” Initially, Cuban thought it would be good if Trump, a businessman, could change the US political situation. “I thought, ‘He’s great. He’s not the typical Stepford candidate. I think that’s a positive,'” Cuban told former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy in a recent interview. In a 2017 op-ed for the Daily Beast, Cuban told me that Trump was a “fool,” but that he himself was not a “liberal.” That sentiment will likely disappoint conservatives, confuse liberals, and excite libertarians.
Many conservatives believe he sounds like one of them. And it turns out, even though he’s campaigning for Harris, he’s still aligned with conservatives on some ideas. “I prefer a smaller, more efficient government,” Cuban said. “But I prefer pragmatism over dogma.” He said government programs can help those in need, and that charitable enterprise is something he values. Cost Plus Drug Co. His is a real-life example. The online pharmacy boasts pharmaceutical drug prices that are a fraction of the regular price. “We as a nation are only as good as our children. When children and their parents struggle, it makes life harder for them and those who love and help them” , Cuban told me. “Once we solve some of our fundamental problems, then we can start to eliminate those programs. … I had this conversation with Kamala. About the need to improve efficiency of government programs so we can achieve better outcomes for those who need them.”
