At 11:18 a.m. on November 6, AP news agency announced that former President Donald Trump won against Ms. Kamala Harris in the battleground state of North Carolina. Mr. Donald Trump received 16 electoral votes from this state after defeating the Democratic candidate. At Mr. Donald Trump’s election night party, the crowd cheered, some supporters pumping their fists in the air and others jumping for joy when the screen showed Mr. Trump had won 16 electoral votes tri of the state of North Carolina.

Before winning this year, Mr. Donald Trump also won the state of North Carolina in both previous presidential elections in 2016 and 2020. However, before the election, the Democratic Party still optimistic that they can reverse the results with Ms. Harris’s campaign spending, rallies and rallies. Democrats have also tried to link Mr. Trump to embattled Republican North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson. However, Donald Trump and his deputy JD Vance visited North Carolina frequently during the recent election campaign, promoting a more protectionist economic agenda and promising to crack down on illegal immigration. North Carolina is the first battleground state to announce election results. Winning North Carolina brought Donald Trump’s total number of electoral votes to 230 votes. Previously, Ms. Harris won three consecutive states: Oregon, California and Washington, adding 74 to a total of 187 votes as of 11:30 a.m. on November 6. California alone brought Ms. Kamala Harris 54 electoral votes the largest number of electoral votes in the entire United States. This result is not much of a surprise as this is a state with many Democrats, where Ms. Harris once served as a senator and attorney general. Republican candidates have not won America’s most populous state since 1988.
