The Golden State Warriors honored Andre Iguodala on Sunday at Chase Center following their 126-102 win over the Dallas Mavericks . The team held up a banner reading “Andre Iguodala” with the number 9 representing his shirt number. The Warriors held the ceremony on the same day as their game against the Mavericks, which allowed Iguodala’s former teammate Klay Thompson to attend the ceremony. Thompson arrived in Dallas as a free agent in the summer of 2024, after 13 years with the Warriors. Iguodala joined the Warriors in July 2013 after reportedly turning down a five-year contract with the Denver Nuggets. He was eventually sent to Golden State as part of a sign-and-trade deal that included the Nuggets and Utah Jazz.

He was named to the 2013-14 All  Defensive Team after his first season with the Warriors before winning Finals MVP honors for his performance against LeBron James and the Miami Heat as the Warriors won the 2015 championship. James made just 38.1 percent of his shots against Iguodala, compared to James’ 44 percent when Iguodala was not on the court. Former Warriors general manager Bob Myers and current Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka were at the ceremony as well as Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison. Pelinka has been Iguodala’s agent throughout his career. Iguodala retired in 2019 after playing for four different teams during his 19-year career.
