For the second time in the past three years, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will face Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts in the Super Bowl. Even though Hurts made his second Super Bowl appearance in just the fifth season of his career, Hurts still faced doubts and was not considered one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks. Mahomes, the most talented NFL quarterback today, doesn’t understand the doubt in Hurts. Although Hurts has had to prove himself throughout his career thus far, Hurts also received a lot of praise recently when the Eagles returned to the Super Bowl. One of the main compliments paid to Hurts recently is that he is a consummate winner.

Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni conveyed that message after defeating the Washington Commanders in the NFC finals. “What about our midfielder!” Sirianni said as the team celebrated another trip to the Super Bowl. “He’s a great player. I knew he would play that way. I knew it. Don’t doubt him! All he does is win!” Although Hurts has received a lot of praise recently, he continues to face doubts. Actually, that might be for the best. Hurts was asked earlier this week if he liked that people doubted him. His answer was: “It’s not a secret”. So far in his career, Hurts has turned that doubt and pain into a 46-20 record as a starter in the NFL and a 5-3 record in the postseason. The quarterback wasn’t the only one responsible for the win by any means, and Hurts has a great supporting cast, but he could really cement that “winning” reputation with a Super Bowl victory this week.
